Kermit 40th Party (2012 Party Planner No 3)

Happy 40th Birthday Susan!
Here is the desserts table me and my sister made for our older sister Susan.  She loves Kermit so we wanted a Kermit party suitable for adults!

The sign was made using the Cricut - we cut out "Suzy's Sweets" and stuck the letters onto a blank canvas we got from Home Bargains.  We then spray painted with yellow over the top then peeled the Suzy's sweets lettering off.  We had to add a sticker because a fly stuck itself to the wet spray paint!!   We also used the Cricut for the circles backdrop - so much fun to watch the cricut cutting circles out at its highest speed!  We then attached the circles to yellow bakers twine.
We used lemons and limes to continue our colour theme and used the cricut to cut out some shapes to make Kermits and attached them to straws.

More Cricut crafting for the sign....

Each of the tables had re-purposed cans on them filled with flowers.  We used craft paper in yellows and greens to cover old soup and beans tins.  Very cheap and cheerful table decorations - add in a few more Kermits on straws and we had a beautiful hall for Susan's party.

The food was a cold buffet followed by the desserts table.....

Lemon meringue cheesecake...
Strawberry cheesecake... and chocolate lime cheesecake in the background - these don't seem to have
posed for any photos on the night :(

 Chocolate mousse...
Strawberry mousse...(recipe from Amy Atlas book Sweet Designs)
And birthday cake of course with lemon chocolate and vanilla tiers.

The birthday girl in her Kermit necklace and headband eyes (based on Radmegan idea)
 Mini kermits!

We all had a great time dancing the night away.  One more successful party!  Recipes can be provided if anyone would like them.  The mini desserts were a GREAT idea!  We didn't just have to have one pudding  each and we had to try every flavour of cake of course :)
